Veta S40 will turn your
Nokia 6230 phone
into a wireless remote controller for a Macintosh computer. It makes
use of Bluetooth technology to talk to your computer so you do not even
have to be in the same room to change the volume or songs in iTunes :)
Veta S40 is a Series 40 midlet. It is designed to work seamlessly with
Romeo 0.9.2 or later, available as a free download from
Arboreal Software . For Nokia 6230i use Romeo 0.9.3-i.

Availability Veta S40 Demo is immediately available as a download from this site. Use the link on the left to download the VetaS40.dmg disk image. It contains the program and user manual. Since Veta S40 is a Java midlet, it requires special installation procedures ( in other words you can not just send it to your phone from your Mac over Bluetooth). To install Veta S40 or other midlets on you Nokia 6230, you can use "Phone Director" from http://www.macmedia.sk/pd.htm You can also download Veta S40 using your phone (GPRS charges will apply). On your phone go to Applications -> Collection -> App.downloads -> More bookmarks. From options add a New bookmark: "wap.GetJar.com" and save it. Go back to Bookmarks and open wap.GetJar.com with your phone -> Quick Download -> enter Quick Download Code 762). This will download and install demo version of Veta S40 on your phone. In order to use Veta S40 on Nokia 6230i, install Romeo 0.9.3i on your Macintosh. Source code for the latest version of Romeo is available here: romeo.zip. Registration Veta S40 is commercial software. The license fee is $8 (US). Read the User Manual for licensing terms and registration information. |
